Trimlight's Story
Trimlight was founded in 2010 by Ryan Whittaker, who was frustrated with the yearly hassle of putting up holiday lights only to take them down again in harsh winter conditions. Motivated to create a more permanent and practical solution, he began researching home construction to determine the best placement for a long-lasting lighting system. Rather than attaching lights to roofs or gutters—which could cause damage—he identified the fascia as the ideal location.
Whittaker also considered how environmental exposure affects lighting durability. To protect the system from UV damage and extend its lifespan, he designed the lights to face downward. After testing different materials and configurations, he developed a system that blends seamlessly with a home’s exterior while remaining durable and easy to maintain.
As interest from neighbors grew, it became clear there was strong demand for this innovation. Whittaker partnered with friends to officially launch Trimlight as a business. Since then, the company has expanded rapidly, completing thousands of installations along the Wasatch Front and growing to include more than 300 dealerships across the United States and Canada.

Hi, I’m Chuck Holt, owner of West Kentucky Trimlight. I started this business in 2025 with a simple goal—bring high-quality, long-lasting lighting solutions to homes and businesses across Western Kentucky, while treating every customer the way I’d want my own family treated.
Before starting West Kentucky Trimlight, I spent 15 years in the finance industry and over 30 years working in customer service. That experience taught me the value of trust, clear communication, and doing things the right way the first time. After years in the corporate world, I was ready for a change—something more hands-on, more personal, and more meaningful. That path led me to Trimlight and the opportunity to build something of my own.
I chose Trimlight because of its innovative design, durability, and industry-leading warranty. It’s a product I truly believe in, and one I’m proud to install for both residential and commercial customers.
